Amanda Clark

Amanda grew up sailing on Long Island Sound and quickly rose through the youth ranks: at 15, she was the youngest female sailor to join the US Sailing Team. She raced collegiately at Connecticut College, earning All-American honors. Amanda represented the U.S. in the 470 class at both the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics, finishing 12th and 9th, respectively. Since the Olympics, she has served as a coach to the next generation of Olympic sailors, served as a sailing representative for the United States Olympic Committee Athlete Advisory Council, and continued to sail recreationally.

Sarah Douglas

Sarah was born in Ontario but spent much of her childhood in Barbados, where she first learned to sail with her family at age 7. She competed in the Optimist class, and became the Canadian national champion before the age of 15. After returning to Canada, she transitioned to the ILCA 6 class. Now one of the world’s top singlehanded sailors, Sarah has represented Canada at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, finishing 6th and 8th, respectively. She is also a two-time Pan American Games medalist, earning gold in 2019 and silver in 2023. 

Sophia Montgomery

Sophia grew up in Bangkok and started sailing at age 8. By 13, she had earned a spot on the Thai national team and later became the training partner of Thailand’s first-ever female Olympic sailor. After competing in the ILCA 6 throughout high school, Sophia is now studying and sailing at Harvard, where she is concentrating in physics with a secondary in mind, brain and behaviour, and has become a two-time ICSA Women’s Singlehanded National Champion. After her sophomore year, she took a gap year to campaign for the 2024 Olympics, competing in Marseille as one of the youngest sailors in the fleet and finishing 27th out of 43. Still part of the Thai national team, Sophia now has her sights set on LA 2028.

Katie Gluskin

Katie grew up sailing in Duxbury, Massachusetts, and went on to compete at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, graduating in 2013 with a degree in psychology and neuroscience. After college, she attended Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing. She then gained experience in a critical care setting before merging her medical expertise with her passion for sailing. Katie is a co-founder of Regatta Rescue, a company dedicated to keeping sailors safe—offering specialized training, medical kits, and on-call support for everyone from offshore racers to high-performance inshore teams. She has worked with many large inshore events such as the Bacardi Cup, and was a key part of the Cole Brauer Ocean Racing Team during Brauer’s historic second-place finish in the 2023–2024 Global Solo Challenge.

Moderator: Venetia Satow

Venetia is a British-American 18 year old who sails out of Breakwater and Shelter Island Yacht Clubs. She has been sailing for three years and is primarily an ILCA 6 sailor. The founder of the first Sag Harbor Women’s Sailing Conference, Venetia is passionate about sailing and created the conference to attract top women sailors and inspire young female sailors around the Long Island Sound.
